Agenzia Interregionale per il Fiume Po (AIPO)

It is part of the Coordination Committee and is involved with the Region of Lombardy and Emilia Romagna in spreading and networking activities of the Committee on the conservation of the Po river corridor. As part of the Study Group for the Fish Passage together ADBPO and the Province of Piacenza it has the role of supervising the technical planning of the restoration of the continuity of the river corridor, the control system and other infrastructural projects.

With four laws passed by the Regional Councils of Piedmont, Lombardy, Emilia Romagna and Veneto, the Interregional Agency for the Po River (AIPo) has been established since 2003, as instrumental entity of the four regions, which reflects the heritage of the dissolved Magistrato per il Po’ (established in 1956) and care management of the main hydrographic network of the largest Italian river basin, managing, essentially, hydraulic safety of public water and river navigation.

To perform these functions, AIPo is articulated with regional offices in the basin, from Turin (Moncalieri), up to Rovigo and has its headquarters in Parma.
